Becoming a Member

« 4.12 Member of the Association
A member of the Association is any person, organization publiclly-traded or non-profit company that has been so designated by the Executive Committee, who conforms to all the requirements for membership, and who has submitted a written request on the application form, and has paid the fee.
Every member must meet the following requirements:
a) be an individual over 18 years of age;
b) if a public or non-profit company, one person must be designated to represent the entity, and the name submitted to the secretary of the Association;
c) be a “Resident of lac Mercier” * or the “Owner of a qualifying piece of vacant” **;
d) submit an application on the appropriate form,
e) pay the membership fee as determined from time to time by the Executive Committee.
* A « Resident of lac Mercier » is the owner on title of:
i) a piece of property along the shore of the lake within the watershed of lac Mercier, upon which is built a seasonal or permanent residence or a commercial, or non-profit enterprise,
ii) a portion of land contiguous to the linear park or public road (chemin du Village, Plouffe, des Boisés), the absence of which would place it along the shore of the lake, piece of land upon which is built a seasonal or permanent residence, or a commercial or non-profit enterprise,
** “Owner of a vacant portion of land” refers to a piece of land upon which there had been a seasonal or permanent residence, or commercial enterprise as designated under the criteria i) and ii) of definition of resident.
For properties rented to third parties by means of a long-term lease (at least 12 months), only the owner may become a member of the Association, unless a written designation of another person is submitted in writing to the secretary of the Association.
In cases of co-ownership, only a single individual can be designated as a member.
